"but says the next steps are up to mining companies like Noront to move forward."….hmmm

“No movement on the Ring of Fire

The government made no new commitments on the Ring of Fire, despite reports of a mining sector that's anxious about the slow pace of work there. The government repeated its commitment to spend $1 billion on infrastructure to the Ring of Fire, an isolated but potentially very valuable mineral deposit in northwest Ontario.

The government has partnered with First Nations to ensure that locals are hired for the eventual jobs that materialize, but says the next steps are up to mining companies like Noront to move forward.”

======================================================

So, the government states the ball is now in Noront's court?

It looks like Noront's July 15 MD&A page 5 … is still the plan.

"ENTER INTO FORMAL PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS AND FINANCING ARRANGEMENTS IN ADVANCE OF INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITMENTS FROM GOVERNMENT IN ORDER TO ALLOW PROJECT DEVELPMENT TO PROCEED"
