Paul Lefebvre made some pretty bold statements about the Fed Liberals furthering the ROF infrastructure if elected....

17. What would your party do to develop the Ring of Fire mining area?

A Liberal federal government would play a key role in helping Ontario develop the Ring of Fire by working closely with the private sector and local, provincial and First Nations officials, up to and including providing matching funds or loan guarantees for necessary infrastructure.

Liberal leader Justin Trudeau is on record saying the principals need to sit down together and try to figure out the way to ensure the Ring of Fire is of benefit economically but also for communities, for First Nations, and for the long-term sustainability of Northern Ontario's environment.

So far the key role has not materialized...talk is cheap.

One of my first official duties as Sudbury MP was to rise and report on my community in the House of Commons. On Dec. 10, I delivered a speech to the House explaining how the culture of innovation is growing in Sudbury, as well as extolling our city’s cultural vibrancy and ecological sustainability.

I also used the opportunity to talk about the importance of mining, mining sales and service and the Ring of Fire to the Canadian economy. It was a fitting way to begin my term in Canada’s 42nd Parliament, as I will be returning to these themes often in the coming four years.

At this rate the Chinese will be investing money before they are.
