Drive the price down by not allowing members of a "tiny" forum to communicate directly?

I don´t think so.

Imho it would be much easier to "influence" or "manipulate" said discussions - or simply manipulate the price of NOT.V stock (like they do)!

The explanation is rather a trivial one (e.g. additional support, required filtering measures for private communications, lacking a Ruby on Rails programmer, etc)
