Message: Carbon Pricing Pushing Mines to look at Renewable Alternatives

I do not see CO2 emissions as an issue for Noront. Electrical power from Pickle Lake is already in the plan, only the time for it's implementation is the question. I suspect that decision is being delayed by lack of progress on the E/W road route which the power line is to parallel.

The CO2 problem will have to be faced by the utility supplying the electricity and the cost will be passed on to the customer, meaning communities and mines near the Ring.

Noront could try to supplement electrical power by something like wind mills, but that is probably a side issue at this time and if cost efficient could be implemented later, I think much later.
