The Northern Ontario Party is not sure whom to worry more about, Justin Trudeau and his poor Geography skills or Kathleen Wynne and her less than stellar economic prowess. Maybe it's time for both of them to brush up on their academic skills by going back to school and attend a Northern Ontario College.

All joking aside, Kathleen, Justin, and John Tory made a major announcement this week about the future of Toronto’s waterfront. Between these three levels of government, they planned to give Toronto another 1.25 billion dollars worth of taxpayers’ money.

They planned to use this money to clean up Toronto’s Port lands by rerouting the Don River, to make way for the creation of parks and affordable waterfront housing for the citizens of Toronto.
Kathleen Wynne states “this is the right thing to do for the people of Toronto — but also benefits Ontario and Canada."

The Northern Ontario Party would like some questions answered. How are creating parks and affordable housing going to help the people of Northern Ontario? Is it going to bring down the cost of our hydro bills, or stop the increased cost of purchasing natural gas for heat this winter? Or does it help those who have to travel hundreds of kilometers to seek medical care? Does it even create one job in the North?

The people of Northern Ontario have been waiting years for Kathleen and her Government to build a road so that the Ring of Fire project could get started. This project could bring millions of dollars back into the coffers of Ontario, and create wealth and jobs throughout the province. But in Kathleen’s world, If it's not the GTA it doesn’t matter.

The people of Northern Ontario need to realize the time for change is now. Patrick Brown, who is seen as the true contender for the premier’s chair in the next election has had a number of his party Riding Associations abandon him in recent weeks. While Andrea Horwath only seems interested in calling for public inquiries when the going gets rough. Do you really think, the North or anyone else can afford another 4 years of Wynne?
The Northern Ontario Party is ready to take on the job to represent the north and fight for what is required to bring this region back to prosperity.
