ALL SEASON, ALL WEATHER ROAD UPDATE:
Webequie is currently conducting a pre-feasibility study for potential route options for an all season, all weather multi-purpose supply road.
In order to survey the land, biologists and planners will be using helicopter and light detection/ranging equipment (LiDAR) sometime over the next couple weeks.
Nibanamik and Webequie will continue to work together to reach a possible consensus on a road linking the communities by gathering community input until the end of the year. If a consensus is not reached by January, it's likely that option will no longer be feasible.
The update was presented by Michael Fox of Indigenous Community Engagement, who along with Tony McGuire of Theymedia, brought a drone to show the all season road working group the potential drones have to help with studies and surveying land.
