Tin Man I believe you are correct.  My understanding is that in this type of classic differentiated magmatic system is that the geochemistry dictates that there has to be equal amounts of Nickel to Chromite.  This is stated by Wes Hanson (around the 7:40min mark) in the 2012 Mass Min presentation.  This means there is a ****load of Nickel still to be discovered.

I love this video as it explains the formation of the ring (about 2 min in) and one can visually see how Eagle 1 is just likely a tenticle rising from a large orebody.

Interesting is that in 2010 Noront stated they will drill to 2500m (at just before 2min into the video below).  Then in the 2012 video Wes states they stopped at 1600m.  Why the discrepancy?  Why stop at 1600 when they planned to go to 2500????
