from the past..
ArcelorMittal wants to benefit from the difficulties of the steel companies
ThyssenKrupp and Outokumpu in the stainless steel segment. ArcelorMittal retained 40% of the shares in Aperam in the spin-off of the stainless steel business, making it a major shareholder in the company.
If Aperam got their hands on the Acciai Speciali Terni and VDM works put up for sale by Outokumpu, ArcelorMittal would benefit as well.
In addition, ArcelorMittal is said to have bought the ThyssenKrupp plant in the US together with Nippon Steel and would thus be owned by three former ThyssenKrupp companies."

Lindsay Goldberg ended up buying out VDM and now that it is up for sale..again..perhaps Aperam (Arcelormittal owns approx 41% of Aperam)..will be interested..
