We need a spread sheet of all these promises and statements from the province, Noront and the feds.  Timelines are promised and then come and go.

Noront President and CEO Alan Coutts said a project description should be released in January 2018

We now near the end of Feb.....

I hope this prediction comes true very soon as at least it is vague enough to still be possible....

"He said a project description that shows the details of where the roads will be placed will be released in the beginning of 2018 and "shovel's [will be] in the ground within that period," which means Noront will then finally be able to talk to investors to start financing the big project."

=========================================

When shovels are in the ground Noront states they can start mine construction at the same time.....

https://www.northernontariobusiness.com/industry-news/mining/bogged-down-in-the-ring-of-fire-521605

"Noront is currently planning on starting construction on their Eagle's Nest mine site in 2018, followed by work on their Blackbird chromite deposit.

To proceed with construction on Eagle's Nest, they need a road to the inaccessible site to start around the same time."

==================================

How long will it take to build these roads?  Noront wants production to start at Eagles Nest in 2022 for which they will need a road to transport the nickel to Sudbury.  Does it take 4 years to build a road as predicted on the Ontario website?  If it does take 4 years then at least the road will be ready for Noront when they need it? If the road is started in early 2018 then at least it will be ready for our nickel to get out I hope.  If 4 years is far too long to build this road then I guess the shovel in the ground date is not as important except to maybe secure funds from Noront's future big brother to pay for mine construction.

I know we have some road building experts on this site.....perhaps they could throw in their 2 cents as to possible road building timelines?
