Message: Romano OK with Ford

Romano said Ford had a strong following and believes he will be an effective leader.

"I'm prepared to support him moving into the June election and I look forward to speaking to him on the issues," Romano told The Sault Star in a telephone interview.
Ford was in Sault Ste. Marie to tout his own campaign earlier this month. He was also present at Romano's victory party during last June's byelection.

Romano said it will take time, but he believes Doug Ford will disenfranchise himself from his brother.

The new Tory leader had campaigned on promises to scrap the carbon tax and "pour money" into infrastructure to move forward the Ring of Fire development if he wins the next provincial election in June.
