Message: Sault sneaking in the back door?

One has to wonder how long this potential future partnership of KWG,Sault, Missinabie has been brewing?  Did Noront know that the Sault had intentions of working with KWG on its own ferrochrome facility in the Sault?  Will this put the Sault at the back of the Noront list for trying to get in the back door and front door at the same time secretly?

The proposed KWG venture has a lot of expensive hurdles to jump to become reality.  A KWG railroad seems to be a key component of their dream....is it possible that Doug Ford if elected could make this FSDI/KWG built rail a reality?

It seems the libs have snubbed KWG and now the tables may have turned.  KWG did not drop China from their patent for no reason I expect.  FSDI builds the rail for offtake and the use of the patent?  KWG profits with a user fee of a 3% toll for the use of the rail and in essence gets Noront to pay them for the next few centuries?  KWG produces ferrochrome for less than Noront by using their own patent and charging Noront for use?  My head is spinning.....

Does this seem like a 'hyperloop pipe dream' or a possible realistic end game?

"The Ring of Fire Limited Partnership cordially invites you to join Doug Ford, Leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party with the Honorable Maxime Bernier, Opposition Critic for Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Chief Jason Gauthier, of the Missinabie Cree First Nation to review the virtues of making ferrochrome in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, for a new North American stainless-steel supply joint-venture with Sault Ste Marie, Ontario."

The Missinabie seem very willing to work with industry and seem to want a prosperous future for themselves.  How long have they known about this KWG initiative?

Working Towards Financial Independence

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON, Jan. 19, 2016 /CNW/ - Missanabie Cree First Nation (MCFN) announced today the signing of joint venture agreements with seven experienced business partners.  These partnerships will enable Missanabie Cree First Nation to be a strong contender in its bid to work on – and benefit its community from - development projects occurring on its territories.  This is an important approach to help ensure the long term economic and social wellbeing of the members of Missanabie Cree First Nation.

"Sault Ste Marie and surrounding areas anticipate seeing major development projects in the coming years," said Chief Jason Gauthier, Missanabie Cree First Nation.  "To succeed, these projects will require the support and participation of First Nation's communities and − as stewards of the land − the Missanabie Cree First Nation is in a unique position to provide strategic services."

Joint Venture agreements were finalized today with: Advanced Security (security and investigative services); Austin Powder (blasting services); ESS Support Services (workplace support, including meals); Northec Construction Inc. ( construction services); Quatro Industries Ltd. (material handling); Tulloch Engineering (engineering and surveying); and Vital Drilling (mineral exploration).

"As a team, our first line of business is to look for opportunities to bid on mining contracts on traditional territory of the Missanabie Cree," said Gauthier. "We hope to be able to put in a competitive bid when related contracts start to go through tender."

"In addition to the sustainable economic benefits afforded by these partnerships, we are hopeful that the collaborative aspect will provide employment income for members of our community, thereby contributing to individual, family and community wellbeing," added Gauthier. "We have a vision of our community re-established on the traditional lands that were once the homeland of our ancestors where institutions of our government, economy and education can once again thrive."

More About Missanabie Cree First Nation (MCFN)

Evidence and records suggest that by as early as the 1570s, members of the Missanabie Cree had settled in the areas surrounding present day Missinaibi Lake, Dog Lake, Wabatongushi Lake, Oba Lake and Esanagi Lake.  According to Elders' testimony and anthropological evidence, the Missanabie Cree had utilized these lands from time immemorial to hunt, fish and trap for food, for ceremonial purposes and to provide for the cultural, spiritual and economic wellbeing of their people.
