The NDP would make changes to the Far North Act, regarding land use planning in the region, to bring “that sense of predictability into the system when it comes to mining and exploration,” said Howarth. “Mr. Ford thinks that you just have to drive a bulldozer up to the Ring of Fire and it's all going to be better. That's certainly not the case, as we know.”

Road access to the Ring of Fire “shouldn't be something that drags on for the length of time that it has,” said Horwath. “We are going to put a very determined focus on ensuring that the Ring of Fire is developed and ensuring that mining resources are sustainably supported by the provincial government.”

How the Far North Act will be tweaked depends on consultations with Ring of Fire stakeholders, Horwath adds.

“I'm not going to specify exactly what amendments will come because the whole point is to engage the stakeholders and get it right,” she said...."

Hmm, purposely parotting Wynee et. al in an attempt to garner Left-leaning Liberal voters, or the Undecided vote(i.e. blur the distinction by "borrowing" some of their platform points /stealing their thunder with the added bonus of "minus the Wynne"), and thus inadvertently serving to split the anti-Conservative vote {and potentially ensuring  its (Conservative )election win} ...or perhaps the foreshadowing of a Liberal-NDP alliance for those who couldn't envision Ford in power?...or perhaps just political laziness in formulating one's own position on the matter after having been in the logstanding position of beind a criitic without having  one's own vision/plan for moving forward...
