The above is the current status for Ontario's environmental assessment of Noront's multi metal Eagles nest mine.
From this date the gov't has 2 to 3 years according to their website, so in 3 days we're at the 3 year mark.
Under the provincial environmental review process, the ministers can issue an Environmental Assessment Certificate, refuse to issue a certificate or order further studies.
Noront submitted both the north south and east west route into their Environmental assessment.
You can see the North south route in Cliff's proposal below from 2012 and you can see it perfectly matches the Marten Falls proposal with the difference of the little piece that allows Marten Falls access to their reserve.
We read numerous times that Noront was sharing their info to help Marten Falls with their EA.
You can clearly see just this little piece needs to be addressed. The rest has been finished a long time ago.

The reality is that the gov't needs to come out and decide what they wish to do ...very soon since we are approaching the 3 year mark.
A project in British Columbia that RCF was involved in called Avanti mining was having issue with the local First Nations.
Below is from March 14, 2013, ...
"It's extremely disappointing," Avanti Mining Inc. CEO Craig Nelsen said Thursday, referring to a Nisga'a Nation press release of the day before calling for a halt to the project. "Especially given the amount of time, energy and money we've put into complying with the Nisga'a Treaty."
Under the provincial environmental review process, the ministers can issue an Environmental Assessment Certificate, refuse to issue a certificate or order further studies.

keeping in mind that RCF was the LARGEST shareholder of this company , look at the response one day later from Avanti..
Avanti Responds to Nisga'a Dispute Resolution VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - March 15, 2013) - Avanti Mining Inc. (TSX VENTURE: AVT) (PINKSHEETS: AVNMF) ("Avanti") is aware of the recent decision of the Nisga'a Lisims Government to initiate dispute resolution with the provincial government in respect of the environmental assessment for Avanti's Kitsault Mine. The company remains confident the environmental assessment process has been thoroughly and properly conducted and expects a decision from government in the days ahead. The British Columbia environmental assessment process is one of the most rigorous anywhere. Avanti has spent four years and $13 million on it. This includes a 600 page report specifically dedicated to the economic, social and cultural interests of the Nisga'a citizens pursuant to Chapter 10 of the Treaty. The Nisga'a have been key participants throughout the process and Avanti provided them significant capacity funding to do so. "The amount of work that we have done to ensure the Nisga'a Treaty requirements have been met has been extraordinary and unprecedented, and the government has already gone well past the statutory timeframes," said Avanti President Craig Nelsen. "We firmly believe that BC and Canada have fulfilled their obligations under the Treaty and fully expect the Ministers to approve this project at this time." Nothing in the Nisga'a Treaty or provincial legislation prevents ministers from making their decision at this time on the basis that the Nisga'a have initiated dispute resolution.

so, then what happened?
5 days later...then got their aproval
Avanti Receives Environmental Approval From British Columbia for Kitsault Molybdenum Project VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - March 20, 2013) - Avanti Mining Inc. (TSX VENTURE: AVT) (PINKSHEETS: AVNMF) ("Avanti") is pleased to announce that an Environmental Assessment Certificate ("EAC") has been issued for the Kitsault molybdenum mine by the British Columbia Minister of Environment and the Minister of Energy, Mines and Natural Gas. The decision was made after the review led by the BC Environmental Assessment Office ("EAO") that concluded the project is not expected to result in any significant adverse effects based on the mitigation measures and conditions of the EAC. The EAO and Ministers concluded that the Crown's obligation to consult with First Nations and the Nisga'a Nation under Chapter 10 of the Nisga'a Final Agreement had been met. "We are delighted with the decision by the BC Government and await a similar approval from the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency under their joint review memorandum," said Craig J. Nelsen, President and CEO of Avanti. "We continue to reach out to First Nations and the Nisga'a Nation to work constructively toward implementing the requirements set forth in the EAC." "We can now focus our efforts on obtaining the necessary financing and permits to start construction later in 2013 of this very significant project that will provide benefits to all stakeholders including the Nisga'a Nation," said A.J. Ali, Chief Financial Officer of Avanti
