What do you see below?....it does not state..from a provincial road to Marten Falls reserve

To mean this appears to be only the extension from noron'ts EA's North south road to Marten Falls

And do you recall ...Webequies' EA for a supply road to the mine???

My gut is telling me the EA is getting approved and the roads applied for, for EA for Marten Falls and Webequie are just extensions from Noront's north south road ... to their reserves.

Yes they can both say they need to consult their people because these specific extensions were not part of the one Noront submitted almost three years ago in their EA based on the Cliffs North South route.

Marten Falls community access road project

Learn about the environmental assessment process for a proposed road from the northern end of the Painter Lake forestry road to the community of Marten Falls.

Current status

On May 3, 2018 the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change signed a voluntary agreement with Marten Falls First Nation to make the Marten Falls community access road project subject to the Environmental Assessment Act.

Get details on the voluntary agreement.

Project summary

Marten Falls First Nation plans to build, operate and maintain an all-weather multi-use road from the northern end of Painter Lake forestry road to the community of Marten Falls in northern Ontario. They have agreed to follow an environmental assessment process for this project. This assessment will look at how the road and any associated infrastructure could impact the environment.

The assessment process starts with a work plan—called the terms of reference—that outlines how the assessment will be completed, including studies and consultation plans.

The Minister of the Environment and Climate Change must approve the terms of reference before the environmental assessment can begin.
