I can tell you that I saw this  video  in 2013, and I fact checked it by going on

www.attawapiskat.org

I was able to see the 2013 financial statements and every single thing said about the ridiculous expenditures by the band, was 100% true including the detailed stock portfolio of almost 9 million dollars while the leaky roof at the school wasn't fixed.

Amazing was that once people started looking at the financial statements and realizing that it was all true the statements for that year....disappeared.

I just checked today....and you'll still see....

Hoov, what measures do you think the gov't should have taken to prevent this in the first place.

With all the individual reserves in Canada, how does the gov't control corruption by chiefs and band members?

In the case of additional money being given ie : attawapiskat got money through debeers  and also gets money though proceeds from aboriginal casinos in southern Ontario.

And not to forget the donate button on their website.

How does the gov't make sure that the money is spent wisely on the people living on the reserve. What do you recommend be done?

Hoov, your comment regarding marten Falls EA. Did you see the description  of their EA on the MOE website? Or the EA for Webequie on the MOE website?

These EA's are NOT for the north south road or the east west road.

What they appear to be are their RESERVE extensions from the  north south road

The North South Road   has been under an EA for YEARS.

Webequie and marten falls are showing commitment to this north south road found in Noront's EA by applying for  EA's.

Otherwise why the heck would they bother applying for these EA's... if they are not in favor of a north south road?

 I'm sure they'll be happy to see long over due construction happening to build this north south road so the people  on reserve trained for jobs can be rewarded for their efforts and build a more positive life for themselves.
