This could be the billion dollars we have been looking for to kick start the Ring of Fire. The question now is whether Ford can convince cabinet members that building a road to it will actually help with the reduction of carbon emissions, by giving First Nations a link to other energy sources besides diesel; such as hydro, natural gas lines, or even propane.

........The money was brought into provincial coffers under a law that says it can only be spent on measures that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, Ford has dismissed the money as a "slush fund," and his government is pushing forward legislation to use some of to cover the costs of cancelling the cap-and-trade program......
