We are a government for the people, not just those who live in the cities or in the southern part of the province. The Minister of Finance has long been a special champion for northern Ontario, and with the support of all of his cau-cus colleagues, many of whom are here this morning, he does not ignore its residents.
First and foremost, working directly with First Nations partners, the government will end the delays for the de-velopment of the Ring of Fire and will promote resource revenue sharing agreements between First Nations and northern communities, as well as mining and forestry com-panies, so that the benefits of northern development will be shared.
