The East-West route, originally proposed by mining company Noront Resources Ltd. would connect the communities of Webequie and Nibinamik to the provincial highway system.
Sioux Lookout, the “Hub of the North” is located 350 km northwest of Thunder Bay. The community plays an important role in northern First Nation medical care and education. The excellent rail, highway and modern airport makes it an important logistics centre for the northern ad remote First Nation communities and as well as the resource development sector.
