A few observations below.
Look at the location of Goldcorp's mussel white mine. Notice the star in the link below? It's only 130km from the eagles nest.

The map above in the link does not show you that there is an all season road 200km from pickle lake to mussel white mine.

The Musselwhite gold mine in northwestern Ontario is a fly-in, fly‑out operation on the southern shore of Opapimiskan Lake, about 480 kilometres (km) north of Thunder Bay in North West Ontario. An all-weather road connects the mine to the community of Pickle Lake, about 200 km to the south.

Consider that fact that Musselwhite mine lies roughly 130 kilometres southwest of Eagle’s Nest and Blackbird
Funny that there was no problem building this all weather road 200km from the mine to pickle lake.
It's possible to continue this existing road towards Nibinamik and Webequie and then to the mine..only 130km from eagles nest.
strange was the swift and fast EA approval of operating so many 20 megawatt diesel generators at the mine ..only 130km from the Rof's eagles nest that has been given such a hard time..

==================================================================
The level of emissions from 20 megawatts of diesel generators is absolutely HUGE. And yet only 130km from the eagles nest...this was ...ok.
Goldcorp provided the initial funding for The watay power project and then exited and Fortis took over.
The project is planned in two phases.
First, the grid at Pickle Lake will be reinforced, and second, the grid will be extended north to service both the communities and Goldcorp’s Musselwhite gold mine. When electricity becomes available, the diesel generators used in the region can be shut down, reducing the level of greenhouse gases.

The actual merge of Newmont and Goldcorp is supposed to take place 2nd quarter of this year
Earlier this month, the Canadian Competition Bureau issued a "no action" letter clearing the transaction under Canadian competition law. Newmont and Goldcorp continue cooperating with other regulatory agencies to secure the remaining approvals that are conditions to closing.
"We continue making steady progress in securing the necessary approvals to close our transaction with Goldcorp in the second quarter as previously announced," said Gary Goldberg, Newmont's Chief Executive Officer
