Message: Re: True in situ value of ROF deposits discovered SO FAR...

I wish I had the time to reply to the article in the comments section of that article as the article is lacking a lot of contextual information. For instance (as a starter) one can quibble about the current in situ value of the mineral "wealth" determined to date (whether it be $40 billion or $60 billion), but the fact of the matter is that probably 90% of the resources outlined to date have occured during an extremely  short 5-year period between the initial discovery in 2007 until  2012. Hardly any exploration (specifically drilling)  has been carried out since.

Think about the Sudbury basin in contrast. It was discovered some 135 years+ ago, and new discoveries are still being made..therein lies the blue sky upside potential for region. ...and what were the circumstances regarding that  initial discovery? ...As many here are aware (and presumably the writer of that article was/is unaware  ) the discovery was made by a blacksmith working for the CPR, as the country was building infrastructure to open up the country ( https://uwaterloo.ca/earth-sciences-museum/resources/mining-canada/mining-history-sudbury-area). Most certainly the geologist that was quoted in the Globe and Mail article  is aware of these facts/history and is thus somewhat  remiss for failing to include such contextual infomation when discussing the ROF...
