Holymoly,

"AECOM has been selected by the Marten Falls First Nations community to help complete the environmental assessment on a proposed road linking the community to Nakina, "

My opinion is that  this has nothing to do with the east west road to the Ring of fire.

The East west route was designed a very long time ago and has been in the Noront EA for years.

Alan Coutts stated LONG time ago that Noront wasn't sure which route would be preferable so they submitted both. The North south and the East west.

In Noront's updated Corporate presentation there is only mention of the road continuting from Marten Falls route and that portion is labeled "noront as proponent."  And an unattractive time line has been put on this portion in the presentation(think shell game).

However a sudden First Nation led east west toll road would change things.

My opinion is NO WAY would the Watay project go ahead nor the internet project without this road.

Let's just say that I would not want to be an owner of these projects which require cost of maintenance and paying off loans unless I had the ability to generate income  by charging others. Put in a road and .."they(potential companies  to invoice) will come"
