Matawa member First Nations are both remote and road-access communities situated within the James Bay Treaty # 9 boundaries and the mineral deposit known as the ‘Ring of Fire’. The Matawa First Nations are developing a comprehensive indigenous and treaty rights-based approach to development within their First Nations, homelands and territory.

The purpose of this session is to provide a general overview of the communities, and the opportunities for First Nations driven and supported resource and economic development initiatives.
