Agreed, sir goose. Regardless of what our Noront BOD says BHP is not the right fit for the Ring of Fire in light of their lack of an ESG mandate worldwide. To them it would appear at first glance that it is all about the money and power. Cheap as they are I would have to say they are even cheaper when it comes to recognizing others...Shareholders and Indigenous groups alike. Everyone is being treated in a marginalized fashion. Instead of inclusive. As if we were all ants ruining the picnic they have planned.

Both Matawa and the shareholders of Noront must stand up and callout this bully,  who is only concerned with his own self-interests. To start, BHP should consider a merger, not a takeover. Something where shareholders get their Noront shares rolled into the new company and money to join; reverse merger of a sort. Second, a partnership should be formed with the affected First Nations having a 5% ownership shared across all of Matawa. That 5% would then be further subdivided among all of Matawa to be shared in accordance with the issues of proximity to the Ring of Fire, as well as inherent jurisdiction. With all IBAs, ownership, profiting, and control following this hiarchy.

Essentially, we are looking for something here that would appease both Noront shareholders and the respective Indigenous groups of Matawa. Once this is established we can move onto ESG compliance, government oversight and funding, as well as the issues of National Security that present themselves once these initial hurdles have been overcome.

TM.
