Agreed C17...That is..If JT knows what a Noront is. Seems no one in the government, or First Nations, wants to utter the "N" word; Noront. So if JT says anything directly referring to the Ring of Fire we'll know he means Noront. You can't say Ring of Fire without attaching Noront somewhere to your assemblance of thought in the matter. Nor can Matawa be left out either. No...We will see a round about path through our First Nations being taken. To tote and fund Noront by an obvious JT donation to the Ring of Fire cause would be offside, and not viewed for it's worth by an ignorant public who knows little about mining here in Canada, and what it means to them and the country.
No...IMO I see First Nation empowerment and financial reconciliation through JT to indirectly fund the Ring of Fire...His First Nations platform all along. O'Toole, however, will be more direct than JT. His standpoint will be a fiscal one to counter Liberal overspending. If he manages to bestow the value of the Ring of Fire to all and why it is so important you'll see a lot of Canadians following his post pandemic approach to getting Canada back on it's feet...The public do not want to here about mining companies benefiting from funding, but they will begrudgingly accept reconciliation with First Nations, and any efforts to lower taxes and put more money in their pockets.
Debt reduction, fiscal responsibility and ESG will be the main items I believe Canadians will be looking for during this snap election. If taxes stay the same no one will quibble. If Ring money is to come it must be from one of those rainy day funds hiding in some government closet...Not a campaign promise unless it is disguised as something else...Like the Building Canada Fund, Developing Trade Corridors Fund, CIB, Climate Change.....etc. The money has to be there already, and not taken through the notion of higher taxes.
