BHP's quick (and early?) exit doesn't sit well with me.

BHP has deep pockets and they surely recognize the value of the ROF, so why bow out so cheap and early? As TM said, it was hardly a fight.

So is BHP going to sight tight for a bit and then come back swinging- maybe just before the vote on Wyloo's offer (i.e. Option 4 from my BHP's War Room post)?

Or did BHP let Wyloo buy NOT to help deplete Wyloo's war chest - so they won't be able to challenge BHP on some other prize?

Or was this just the outcome of the "discussions" - Wyloo gets NOT for $1.10, and BHP will get first rights on the nickel from Eagle's Nest (if they stay on as a New NOT shareholder), or some nickel guarantees from Mincor, or something else cheap, or all of the above?

Unfortunately we'll probably never know.

GLTA,

Hobbit
