Finally! CIBC is offering a TFSA trading account. I spoke with a customer service rep. today and he informed me that they are offering this account as of right now, but they are a swamped with requests. So they'll take your name and get back to you.

The local branches will be up to speed by Sept. 15th and yes, the good news is, they will offer the discounted trading platform ( $7.00 a trade ) peraccount you set up.

Bad news is ( for me ) I just opened a ( painfully drawn out ) account with RBC.

They lost some documents, they held a cheque for a week 'til they deposited it into my account ( but they used my 5K for that time at no charge! ) and then another 2 day hold to transfer it to my TFSA.

Guess I'll have to transfer everything back to CIBC when things cool down.

Oh my first TFSA purchases today....you wouldn't believe it, I put in a stink bid for 2800 at 1.70 and it got filled , then went up.

For my wife, stink bid of 23k of FWR at .21 and IT got filled too!.

Now....they waiting game..
