FAST FACTS
SABODALA Project – Senegal, West Africa
The Oromin Joint Venture Group (OJVG) (Oromin 43.5%) is focused on building gold resources and developing economic gold deposits in Senegal. To date, 17 significant gold prospects have been defined including 4 gold deposits with grades and thickness similar to operating gold mines in the district. The OJVG is conducting an aggressive exploration drilling program focused on resource delineation at Golouma West, Golouma South and Masato gold deposits with 450 holes totaling 75,000 metres of drilling underway and a further 100,000 metres minimum planned to advance gold deposits to pre-feasibility by late 2008. In addition, the 13 other significant gold prospects will all be drill-tested in 2008 while drilling expansion of the gold deposits continues laterally and to depth.
SANTA ROSA Project – Mendoza, Argentina
The Santa Rosa project is a 7,694 square kilometre exploration block located in the eastern part of the prolific Cuyana Basin in Argentina’s Mendoza Province. The Cuyana Basin has already produced about 970 million barrels of oil from fields located in the western half of the basin.
It is expected the initial exploration work in 2008, will include the drilling of up to three exploration wells to around 1,250 metres each, testing a shallow dome structure.
