I wouldn't sweat over this (is there enough GaAs). Trust me when I say, Dr. T has thought about this way before he started to design the next generation of semiconductors made out of GaAs. You have to ask yourself a question - would a carpenter start building a houses made out of wood for his village people if there was only enough trees to build one house? Probably not.
