But my dear Scary,
You forget Pellegrino 2 - due in the next few weeks. If the valuation here is higher than its first efforts which suggested a 1 billion valuation; perhaps it now only 2 billion. This would be 10$/share, if so then a 15$ a share buyout, on your premise, is to be expected. It's suggested it will be more than this, perhaps double figures who can know but it is highly likely to be significantly higher than 1 billion. I do not think it is misleading to to suggest a buyout might get more than a small increase over the current share price (about 50% of the projected value on Pellegrino 1). I agree that other buyouts have been only low percentages of the current share price but please allow this: these are other industries, this is disruptive technology, a gigantic market to sell into, and a product which might be disastrous for a company not to buy into.
