I have clients who work for investment brokerages here in Winnipeg. They are self describes MMers depending on the particular investment. All that means is that they hold enough shares to affect the sp given their buying and selling patterns. So yes there are MMs in Canada and many of them. If any fund or company has a large position they can (temporarily) sway the sp by massive buying or selling. MMs also have an army of brokers to carry out these trades.
