It is commonly heard in investing circles to bet the jockey, not the horse. In the case of Poet there is little question that the horse, while perhaps still only entering the final turn (to initializing monetization), is certainly the stronger of the two . . . and I would suggest this would be the case regardless of who was at the helm.
Peter's title is Executive Chairman, Interim CEO.
IMO, he deserves full marks for establishing and driving the latest incarnation of the business plan. On that basis I have confidence that the approach in the first few phases of monetization is highly calculated and strategic, given that this will represent the company's footings moving forward.
I believe Peter is a smart guy, and part of being smart is understanding your limitiations. To that end I would not be surprised to see a new CEO announced shortly after or with the announcement of the initial significant partner (as a joint decision). Someone who has the necessary Big League experience to take the company to the next level. Peter has more skin in this game than most, and I feel both confident and hopeful that he will transition the company into bigger hands when the time is right and the opportunity can be maximized.
