I agree oogee that HP's Machine has no connection with POET at this time, but I have been going through different mental exercises with regard to the threat they pose as a competing technology. The part of the articles and videos that I've watched that give me reason to pause and reconsider what is actually being said is probably the same part that has given rise to the mistaken connection with some of POET's attributes. .......................................... POET has often stated that power consumption is reduced by 4-10 times (or 10-25%). The figure 80% power reduction has also frequently been used. The thing that makes me say that HP should not be discounted so quickly is the fact that they are talking about a power reduction of 80 times ( yes 8000%) it was written in articles as well as mentioned in the presentation video and a graph shown in that video seemed to back up that this was not an error in speech or print. .................................. That said, I don't think The Machine has as far reaching application as POET. So all in all, I'm not worried yet about POET's chances of success but I will be keeping a close eye on HP, if only to fully understand how they managed to achieve such energy savings and how their metrics are calculated. ..............
