Dear Iamsorry,
I very much enjoy your posts and discerning analysis.
Following your post I have been trying to envisage what it must be like for the person responsible in PTI managing shareholder perceptions at this time.
I go along entirely with what you say in your final paragraphs in principle, but practically at this time of NDA this company is virtually 'hobled'. Yes it is a mistake to raise share holder expectations with pre-annouced dates, and they should learn from it, but that is not a failing that is going to affect their ability to deliver the main thrust of their strategy, which ought to be what shareholders are really concerned about, i.e. the ability of PTI o deliver a real POET product and establish partnerships to take it to market.
FJ has illuminated the potential danger of the company shouting its achievements and for the time being I go along with the notion that 'silence is golden' and in shareholders best interests at this time. I am sorry but I think we have to accept that this period of silence is neccessary, much like the need to conceal the preparations before a battle.
Have a go at drafting what PTI might say at this time if the are trying to protect a developing relationship with an important potential partner and you end up with a half baked, wet ineffectual statement. I would rather wait for the real deal regardless of what happens to SP today.
Finally, you always used to start your post with 'I am sorry but',. Please start doing this again, it was a much enjoyed signature.
with regards,
Sulasailor
