Since Pinetree's shares are under his direct control, they would also be subject to an internal company blackout.

The intention of a blackout is to prevent insiders acting on material non-public information. Whether the shares are personally owned or not is not revelant to the underlynig intention for a blackout or for trading on non-public information.
