POET is not ready. It needs to go from LAB to FAB.
Why would Google pay 4 billion for some thing that does not apply to what they do? Who do you think makes survers for Google? not Google! Where do the chips/Semiconductors that are used in the servers that Google buys get manufactured? Not from the companies that build the survers!
LAB to FAB to production line to clients to end users. Google. Samsung, Soney and so on.
Talks with Google may be happening as google is likely very interested in motivating those who make the semiconductors to incorporate POET into the chips that will be delivered to the people who make the servers who sell them to google?
Also in the above mentioned Google 4 billion dollar bla bla bla article that is months and months old it clearely states that Google does not wish to bring its money onshore where they would recieve a huge tax hit.
But...... Maybe google wishes to motivate the Fab to use Poet to create some thing non of us have considered and wants 100% rights to POET for an alloted amount of time.
