Like fairchij I am also strongly believing that the POET technology is commercially viable. However, we have yet to come from believing to seeing. It is only done when it is done. And until it is done there's a risk that it won't be done, however strong our combined beliefs are. The risk may be small or even minuscule, but it is definitely greater than zero.
Avoiding that risk is a perfectly valid investment approach. And my impression is that there are many standing at the sidelines who are only waiting for this risk to vanish. They don't want to invest based on beliefs, they want to see an undeniably proof.
Avoiding the risk will come at a price, because once the proof is there, shares will no longer be as cheap as they are today. The potential investors are aware of this and they are willing to pay that price. That's absolutely understandable and fine for me.
Interesting times!
