What Really Matters

In my opinion, what really matters is that POET has an excellent plan and that they execute it. If done successfully, everything else falls into place such as deals with revenue, NASDAQ listing, addition of key staff, etc. What does not matter is what we think or when our patience runs out (of course this matters to us, but not at this point in time for the end goal/success for POET). The main goal for POET currently is clearly not to pump the stock to achieve a higher SP. I do not think there is any benefit to that, and there are also advantages to a lower SP (for now). For example, a CEO will not be signing on for a salary, rather stock options, and right now they will get more options at this price (to a point).
Related to the disclosure of material information, what is material information on technical milestones can be subjective. For example, let's say awhile ago they achieved 40 nm with specific performance metrics. This does not mean they instantly need to make this public information. The plan might then be to do some tweaks to significantly improve the performance, and they do not plan to release any information until that has been achieved, unless they want further improvements, etc. Point is that it would be quite flexible when to release such information, and I do not think to date they have been in a rush to do this to pump the SP. They are focused on executing their plan, and in the future the SP will follow accordingly. They have not been focused on repeatedly pumping the stock by shouting various accomplishments from the roof top. This has not been part of the plan, for whatever reasons.
I too become impatient but I need to keep reminding myself of what really matters, and what I think, or my impatience, does not matter to the overall picture with POET's execution of the plan. As for the current SP and the disconnect with the potential, there is still too much risk for most investors, especially the large investors. Nothing has changed for us retail investors, except the positive updates that indicate we are on track. I believe in POET management and the technology, so will let the "experts" do what they need to do. If I did not feel this way, I would not be invested.
There is some tension on the board today (down 7 cents - big deal!), but keep in mind that we are all in this together with the same end goal (make some money on an investment). A worthy reminder that just because 40 nm is listed in the CP for January does not imply news about this in January (also does not mean it won't happen), might be in February (keep your expectations realistic and don't panic). We are at a critical stage with investor fatigue, stick to your plan (unless something changes).
Having said all of that, I do smile more on green days, and I will have a huge smile when my financials significantly increase on paper. I predict down the road this board will have the same negative sentiment on down days, and we will complain that we went from $8 to $7, there will be similar patterns, just at a higher level.
Good luck all and hang in there!!
