Moska: Some people are willing to take on a little more risk in their lives for a greater potential payout. Not everyone lives for mere security (and smart people know that nothing is secure anyway).

And "payout" does not necessarily mean only money. Recognizing POET's unique technical potential could well be a secondary or even the primary motivation to take the chance to play the leading role in bringing it to the world.
