"In a parallel development at the UCONN lab, a new additional sputter tool was received and accepted. The tool is nearing completion of internal qualification."

I considered this Rainer, but it still doesn't make sense. If it was nearing internal qualification, and then failed, they would've known about the discrepancy of the equipment in early-mid Jan. Therefore, they lied to the CIC presentation when they said everything was rolling along merrily, and I DO NOT believe that they would've done this knowingly.

I say this is a red-herring to buy them some time to do whatever it is that they need to complete. I do not know what it is they are buying time for.
