If like me you are not employed within the semi conductor industry or from outside the US, then the reaction of who is Dr Suresh is entirely normal.

There are people in my country and probably yours who couldn't name the prime minister or president etc.

However, my point is I didn't know who Steve Jobs was until he'd done his thing and turned Apple into the biggest thing since sliced bread.

I rest assured the POET BOD know exactly who he is and what he has to offer - You should too, afterall they are the experts in their field i.e. Ajit, Dr Taylor etc.

The excitement I think your missing is that this, at least for me, is that the CEO appointment is the key to further announcements. Who would give an interview to the press saying this is the perfomenace of our chip (VSCEL and oscillator milestones) and then say by the way I'm handing over the reigns to someone else. That wouldn't happen, but now with the new CEO appointment the gates are open for him to make these statements and become the star in the spotlight that poet will create.
