Question: How toxic ist GaAs?

As a Non-Tech:

Gallium Arsenide is identified as toxic, harmful and dangerous (seen on german wikipedia). No matter that it is already used in transistors, diodes and meters. So it seems one can handle it.

May this toxicity be a problem in production and use in everyday-products?
