I wouldn't let it worry you too much vcsel. Competition is a good thing and it proves that the industry is really trying to achieve what POET seemingly has. If this was 5yrs old, i'd be more concerned, since they would have had 5yrs to refine the technique.

To me it just highlights the inherent problem that Silicon has, when talking about photonic intigration. Exepnsive work-arounds are required to make it LASE effectively.
