With all due respect, what you are suggesting is that POET misled the market and has another source of financial backing to make this acquisition, undisclosed.

That, clearly, is illegal.

The simpler answer is that POET can, and indeed did make this purchase with their own resources, somewhat depleting them, but remaining solvent nonetheless.

My assumption is that POET knows revenue is coming and cares not about a temporary setback in its' bank account. This is a (relatively) minor step along the long road to commercialization and the proof will likely be in the next NR.
