Mika's comments and choice of words may provide some sort of rationale but don't really do anything for me. I'm going to suggest that 95% or more of the public wouldn't understand any "confidential technical, strategic and sales efforts" even if it were disclosed.

I'm not looking for intimate details, but I can sure as heck understand a statement that suggests something to the effect that the company is pleased to announce successful optimization of the fully integrated VCSEL and it is now in the hands of prospective customers for testing. That would give me a sense of progress and hope, in the absence of any disclosure what else are we to think?
