I agree with you.  

There is a pool of opinion here that does not appreciate that PTK was insufficinetly funded to develop POET products. Cleverly, managment devised an approach that would overcome this by aquisition of BB and DL  i.e .they could ramp up an already established business at DL to not only fund POET product development but provide the necessary development environment and broaden the PTI product offering in the process.  Had DL been ready for expansion as they thought it was, this policy may have succeeded, but unfortunately it was not and an influx of cash through a PO was needed to make this plan work which is why 'we are where we are.  The DL CEO lost his job i.e. was  kicked upstairs, presumeably as scapegoat for this failure.

In passing Its interesting that the risks of PO are well descrribed in the Company submissions, and clearly they have thought about this very carefylly.  I feel that they (the company) endeavour to avoid further POs, but realistically we are walking along a tightrope to achieve this.  I hope they make it to the otherside without falling off.

Turning back to the decisionmaking process and bearing in mind SV's  tour of customers, I get the impression that what he learnt was that the world (datacentres) was not yet ready for the POET products hence 2018. I feel that we can say that the key to unlocking POET prodcuts is through sucssess at DL and why should this not work given the support PTI is getting from the Singapore Government, who foresees the interest in the combined DL and BB product offering that will build the customer base and income to commercialise POET.  

There is still risk in this approach but it is about time that it is realised by investors that PTI was underfunded in the first place to properly develop and commercialise POET.  Therefore it really is all about DenseLight and BB, but with the corollary that this is on POET's critical path.
