Hi Sula,

First of all, I’d like to say, Happy Father’s Day to all.   I have to agree, Sula, I believe a lot is going on at POET.  I too had the thought the Special Meeting might be used as a platform to give us an update.   This is, after all, the middle of 2018, and Suresh has referred to this year as the beginnings of results from our strategic moves.  That meaning the alliance with SilTerra and Accelink, two powerhouses in the industry, well equipped to further our innovations.

I researched the CEO of SilTerra a bit,  Firdaus Abdullah.  He was educated at Stanford (MS-Electrical Engineering), and Oxford (MBA Business Administration).  He worked several years as a design engineer at Intel.  The word is he is ready to take on Taiwan (he thinks big).  His comment regarding POET upon their “master collaboration”, “POET’s Optical Interposer is a major advance over other approaches to optical interconnects and facilitates the co-packaging of electronics and photonics devices in a single Multi-Chip Module (MCM).”  “POET’s ‘Photonics in a Package’ solution has the potential to address even larger markets in the future for the integration and co-optimization of ASIC’s and DSP’s with photonics at the interposer and chip level.”

SilTerra, combined with Accelink, certainly put POET in a position for success.  SilTerra works with CompoundTec, a Singapore based Foundry optimizer, specializing in Silicon Photonics, CMOS manufacturing.

We have worked with A*STAR (acronym for Agency Science And Research) on the Smart Pixel, related to Augmented Reality.  Not sure how far that went.  in regard to the latest (as OZ pointed out) breakthrough technology platform A*STAR announced – data processing at the speed of light.   I wonder if that is the related to the Optical RAM POET referenced.  Seems we are working with A*STAR in one way or another.

Anyway, it seems we have lots and lots going on and the Special Meeting seems like a good time to fill us in on our progress.  For that matter, I’d like to hear more on the ISRO.  The last I saw was the Tender Notice #SCL/PT/63 for the Transfer of Ga based RF and Photonic Devices, dated July 8, 2017.  I wonder who won the RTF.

Sula, I admire boat building, and on the River Dee, how cool is that.  (that kind of work is very challenging).  Your note kind of sums it up for me.   The Special AGM might be a good (if I may quote you), “target in time” to let us know, how’s progress.

 Good luck to all        BT
