Very true OG. And as many of us will recall the discovery that they were involved in the pre-bid process was never released or even acknowledged by POET. People should recognize that POET management today are extremely careful regarding disclosure. They know that the kind of hype that existed in the past is difficult to erase regardless of who was to blame. Jack is a good reminder to all of us of this.
Someone who is not following the development and the steps that have been made over the last 18 months really closely and is not aware of industry norms could easily come to the same conclusions and perspective that Jack provides. We all feel it to a certain degree but we try to rise above it by being as informed as we can. And for the most part hats off to us all for it because the expectations that we now have are very realistic and well thought out.
You know when we were at the Empire Club for the D Wave presentation I told Suresh that the last time I was there Peter Copetti was at the head table. His response was “you can't blame me for that” which he said in kind of an apologetic way. In my opinion Suresh really was the most guarded person in that group in terms of realistic expectations when he first joined the company and it was probably a little difficult to get his feet under him as a new CEO under Ajit’s shadow.
I still think the GaAs monolithic tech is there and someday POET will derive value from that platform or within the multitude of discrete components.
