Sula, it's far more likely, if POET is successful, that we get bought out before a penny is paid in dividends. If POET is successful and is not bought out, then my wild guess would be at least 4 years from now, as companies like to expand and invest in various things as they grow, nothwithstanding the model which has been provided to us.
And if POET does ever become a dividend paying stock, most would be very well advised to sell most of it (which would be at a good price, as I don't know many dividend paying stocks that trade under $5) and invest it in other dividend paying stocks of the more traditional variety.
Success can be fleeting.
