Z3 where is that date posted? I expect that timing has been selected to follow up/include the funding to finance the Optical Interposer customer orders.
Baba...the techies are responding to information provided by the company. And the company has repeated this statement again in the updated March presentation:
Minimal engineering risks to completion of platform applications
The reason they can make this statement is because the Optical Interpose is not an active device. Unlike the PiN detectors in the receive circuit which is an active device and has been qualified as outlined by Oz.
Again it is a lack understanding that drives many people to gauge this company’s progress by the share price. Yes there will be tweaks to the platform which is typically required for improving yield in new products. And there will be adjustments made to meet customer’s specific demands. It is all normal stuff.
Yes everyone wants reassurance or some update on qualifications and I expect we will get that on the next update but it is not something they would normally do a news release on. Correct me if I am wrong but we got the report of sampling the PiN detector and then we were advised of the qualification and some details about it when it was completed.
The company is making big moves because they are preparing to go into high volume production. We have to vote on the sale of DL which will be a supplier to POET and part of that vote will be based on who the buyer is. Supply agreements, co-operation agreements and the expansion of DL to meet POET’s commercial production are all part of that deal.
People were viewing this company as unsustainable because they were running out of money. And yet this cash strapped company was still hiring for both internal and external positions. And now we know why. The rest of the story will unfold and we will be saying what they did and the order they did it in now makes sense to all of us.
