Very interesting and super post, InThisThinRain!!!
It seems like skills/processes might have been transferred from the GaAs development and absorbed into the Bill Ring InP solution. Agreed!
Dr. Taylor is continuing his research outside of the pressures of POET. One can do great work when they are in a relaxed state on something they like doing. If POET does proceed with a partner (perhaps? or if at all?) in the future, they know where to find him.
Suresh in hindsight made the right call to go into InP as R&D results, revenue, and customer adoption will be less resistant; the interposer maintains compatibility with the industry as well while bringing improved performance and lower cost of production. POET will do well with this, I believe. Well through this year and the next, we will certainly find out.
